How to Effectively Defeat Bad Habits

As you know by now, many were thrilled to push the “reset” button and start fresh in January (aka: the most “magical” time of the year). Our biggest bet is that you might even have had a few new year resolutions and goals yourself!!

–Are we right?

Perhaps you declared 2017 to be the year of full blown self-empowerment, self-expression, and being the best version of yourself by: losing weight, pursuing a career change, achieving financial security/independence, enrolling into higher education, finding your soul mate, traveling the world, gaining your health, more family time, more YOU time, more God time, and the list goes on. At this point, the new year has brought in some “sense” of fresh beginnings and you’re ready to rock 2017, but struggle with being consistent.

Well, don’t give up yet! We totally believe in YOU and will be cheering you on every step of the way (pinky promise)! – But before we commit to YOUR success and vow to be there during the times you wish to give up and give in to your excuses we’d like to be real with you… you know, get a few things off our chests.

This might hurt your feelings and you’ll likely hate us for saying this…but someone has to honest with you and give you facts baby!

YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CHANCE OF SUCCESS WITH YOUR GOALS!!!

NONE. NADA. ZILCH!

The facts are simple:

-Most actions are ruled by your habits.

-Habits imprison your future.

-We’re slaves to habits.

Sorry, we’re not sorry, for hurting your feelings. Your success rate is determined by what habits you’ve accumulated throughout life, and what psychological wiring you currently have. #justbeinghonest

Nothing will work if you don’t work different.

Why? Because new outcomes call for a new approach and mindset!

If you don’t believe us…you’re INSANE… by Einstein’s definition.

“Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

Truth is, the new implementations will temporarily work until you resort back to your engraved and hard-wired habits. Then you’ll go through a few stages: disappointment, denial, depression, doubt, and dread. All your efforts will be obsolete, your dreams crushed, and we’ll be there with a box of tissues…saying, “We told you so.”

Of course, we want to see YOU succeed and witness you say BYE! BYE! to Yo-yo dieting, debt, disease, dumping losers, and dissatisfaction. The truth – you can effectively defeat bad habits with patience and hard work. We’re here to give you unconditional love, positive feedback, guidance, resources and support in order for you to make this the best year yet.

It’s time for a mental detox by rewiring your active and subconscious mind.

As you’ve heard.., we [humans] are creatures of habit. The way we function as a whole (socially, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically) is strongly correlated to our habits. Unconsciously, we’ve picked up habits (good and bad) from constant exposure with family, peers, teachers, mentors, media, influencers, partners, friends, and some we created ourselves. These habits have molded our brain to create and react in specific ways to life settings.

Here is your homework before we sign on the dotted line and promise to be there ‘til death do us part…

We have two things we need you to do right now:

-Do something for 30 days (anything)

-Be enslaved to good habits

Evaluate and train your brain to commit to do something for 30 days straight! (ex. showering, chewing gum, writing a thought, smiling at a stranger, complimenting partner, etc..) Choose anything small or big and stick to it. At the end of the 30 days notice how easy it progressively got for you to complete the task and celebrate your accomplishment.

During this time, we also want you to observe the negative self-talk, doubt, excuses and reactions to the task. Trust us, they’ll creep in and make you think this is silly. –For extra credit, jot all these down in a journal!

Habits, have brought us to the exact point we’re at right now and will keep us there until we kill old habits with new habits. Good news is…If we truly are slaves to habits…well at least lets be obedient slaves to good habits!
